We are pleased to welcome two new associates, Tina Parbhakar and Katherine Lam, to our Family Law team.
Tina Parbhakar has a background in civil and administrative law matters and expertise in child and youth development, skills which she brings to her family law practice. She has worked as a lawyer for the BC Ministry of Attorney General and in early childhood development in Uganda. A strong advocate for increasing access to justice for children and youth, she co-founded the Children’s Law Section within the Canadian Bar Association’s B.C. Branch and continues to be active in the organization. Tina speaks Punjabi and Hindi.
Katherine Lam is newer to the practice of law, having been called to the bar in 2020, but she has already demonstrated a talent for providing results-focused legal advice. During law school, she was an editor of the Ottawa Law Review, provided workshops on legal issues impacting teens, and mentored other law students through the Ottawa Chapter of the Women’s Legal Mentorship Program (WLMP). She articled at a large regional firm in Vancouver before joining our team.
Tina was born and raised in North Vancouver and Katherine grew up on the West Side of Vancouver. Both lawyers are deeply committed to serving our wonderful, diverse community, which means they’ll be right at home at North Shore Law.
